The Kings Arms has been showcasing the best of craft beer for the last ten years, becoming well known for exciting beer events, whilst at the same time remaining very much a local boozer- a welcoming haven for all comers. There are 14 keg lines and 6 casks lines, and over 100 bottles and cans and big sharing bottles. We focus the drinks offer on balance and quality and consistency rather than the latest hit-and-miss hype. On the food side, whilst there is no kitchen, we take pride and care in what we offer, with amazing cheese & cured meats from our friends at Provisions, and scotch eggs too.
The structure of our company is light on the Operations team, and heavy invested in site management, which allows for lots of creative input into the business. Alongside the Assistant General Manager, the GM is involved in all aspects of running the pub. They help set the agenda and vision for the pub’s future, design the events schedule and concepts, work on promotional activity, and lead from the front behind the bar. Apart from some house lines, all products are under the purview of the GM & AGM, where you will get the chance to work with a wide range of independent producers and wholesalers.
It’s a small pub, which packs a big punch, and this presents an engaging challenge with potential for lots of fun projects to get stuck into. This is a role perfect for someone who is passionate about building a community around proper pub vibes and also is very much engaged with the cutting edge of the beer world and able to work months ahead of time on developing a dynamic events schedule aimed at a wider audience.
We believe work-life balance is important and that the hospitality industry is lagging behind a bit on this. We have 40 hour a week contracts with salaries that are still competitive to help stop burnout, increase productivity and to simply have a nicer time.
We are a company of 7 sites and a brewery, with another site on the way, and steady organic growth planned in for the future. Our other sites are The Axe, The Earl of Essex, Red Hand, Saint Monday, The Black Heart and The Bethnal Green Tavern.
